CCPS Science Club began in 2007 to provide an avenue for children to explore and experience the excitement and fun of Science out of the classroom. Science Club is run by Anjali Rao, who is a qualified Science teacher. We meet once a week during term time for a 45 minute session. Each session is designed to explore a different aspect of science and always incorporates a fun hands-on activity related to the topic being discussed. The emphasis is on stimulating the children's interest in science through the process of investigation, discovery and application of knowledge.
Science Club is open to all Year 3 - 6 students. Please contact Anjali at anjali.rao@bigpond.com for information on this term's session times and availability of spaces.
Apart from the activities during the Science Club session, we have also set up an organic garden in the Primary campus as well as compost bins to recycle our green waste. Science Club students have also completed CREST (Creativity in Science & Technology) projects and been involved in the Scientist in Schools program.
Science Club organised a Science Day for the Primary campus during Term 3 to celebrate Science Week in 2009.
I will NOT be running SCIENCE CLUB in 2012. I am teaching the Science to Years 3-6 at CCPS.
